How to get there

The proximity of the city of Sibiu (about 20 km distant), right in the centre of Romania and with an international airport, makes it easy to get to Sibiel. There are many transport possibilities for those coming from the countries of western, central and northern Europe.

Air links
Daily or weekly flights to Sibiu are available from many European cities, operated by airlines such as Tarom, Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, Carpatair. Low-cost airlines Blue Air, Wizz Air and My Air fly to Sibiu, to Bucharest (about 6 hours by car from Sibiel) and to Cluj-Napoca (about 3 hours from Sibiel). There are many taxis available in Sibiu and rent car too.

Auto
Travellers from the west or the north can enter Romania via the Serbian-Romanian border (citizens of the European Union need a passport) or via the Hungarian-Romanian border (here an indentity-card suffices for citizens of the European Union). Entering into Romania, drivers must purchase a vehicle-coupon («rovinieta») which permits one to drive throughout the country. These coupons can be obtained at dedicated offices at the frontier for a modest fee - in the region of €15-€20, and depending on the amount of time one intends to spend in the country.

Coach/Bus
As well as trips organized by different tour-operators, international bus companies link Sibiu with various European cities. The Atlassib company has a widespread and well-run service network. Eurolines also offer a long-distance bus-service.

Trains
Information concerning international rail connections can be found of the site German Railways.
